Is our relationship with God equal or one-sided?

I believe you can reason with God, but am not saying your reasoning is going to sway Him, though Moses often reasoned with the Lord on account of the people when they angered The Lord their God, and God repented of wanting to destroy them. Abraham reasoned with God about Sodom and Gomorroh and God said if he could find five rightous people He would not destroy said city.
