Why are there starved children in the U.S. while people rent $30k per night rooms to get a view? yahoo news!!!

We have a very "ME ME ME!" society that doesn't want to think about the bad side of our lifestyles. I cringe every time I see a Britney Spears thing in BOLD letters and something about Iraq is the 3rd thing down on the list of bulletins. We have gotten our priorities all screwed up. My plan is to do what I can to help the needy by volunteering and donating to my local settlement house. I figure that I can do some good and maybe inspire more people to do the same once they see how easy it is to lend a hand to their fellow human being.
