Ok...for my english cl... i have to write a story like something Edgar Allan Poe would write (for you who don't know him, he had a HORRIBLE life (all the women he loved died of tuberculosis [cough up blood, and keep doing it, and then die {that's why he wrote the "Mask of the Red Death"}] and he married his 12-year-old cousin Virginia, got many foul nicknames- like Tomahawk Man for being cruel while working for a newspaper, he drunk alot (basically jinxing himself) and never got much money (the only money he ever made off his writing was from the Raven-and he made 14.00). the story I have to write has to have themes such as obsession...premature burial, the people go insane (at least one), fear, sadness...and other things that would fit into a plot like this. I just want ideas for a plot for this story...i can't think of anything...thanks!!!

Did I almost faint at kickboxing, (symptoms)?

What Ph tester is better for fish?

I bought a an API Ph Tester which you add 3 drops to 5ml of water. and today i bought the test strips that test the Ph, Nitrate, Nitrite, Hardness, and Alkalinity. The test stripes are Jungle brand ( the stuff they sell at walmart. Now the API tester says my Ph is above 7.6 and the Jungle test strips say 6.8 - 7.0. What gives? 1st grader having weight issues already!!!?

My 6 yr old daughter is in 1st grade, and comes home telling me she has to lose weight. She is in great health, and in healthy average for weight. She has an athletic built, I'm uming genetics, and is very active in sports. She is mostly muscle. Her calves and legs are thicker than most kids, along with her backside. I ask her why she feels she needs to lose weight, she says because she thinks she is fat. I ured her she is beautiful, not fat, and a great kid. I ask her if kids at school tease her she says no. I have no clue where she could possibly get the idea that she is fat. She is wonderful, and has a body I wish I had. Is this normal for kids now days to feel self conscious about themselves, and weight? Is society putting too much pressure on our little ones, to make them feel they have to look a certain way? I'm not sure what else to say or do for her. I'm not putting her on a diet, no reason to, and she is in sports so she gets exercise. HELP she is too young and beautiful for this.

Tapeworms from Marine Species to Humans?

I work at an aquarium and our seahorses and pipefish have tapeworms. I don't know if it is just in my head, but i believe I am showing symptoms of having them myself. Am I being paranoid, or is it actually possible for tapeworms to p from the seahorses to me. I do spend a lot of time with my hands in the tanks and also use my mouth to start siphoning the tanks so there is a real chance of me ingesting some of the eggs. Could i have swine flu (H1N1 Virus)?

Today in my school I got into an argument with a group of christian friends over the fact that christmas is not a christian holiday. I believe that it is not, because i believe that it carries a nonreligious belief of family and friends and most christmas traditions come from the pagans and other religions. Only the name is provided by the christians. They argue, and i use that strongly, that it is a christian holiday because it celebrates the birth of baby christ and the NAME has christ in it. Hi, I'm 20 years old and male. Ok, I could write a lot but ill try and keep it short. Ok I have got no life whatsoever because I'm afraid to go out in public, get a job, because I feel like everyone thinks I'm ugly, and I just feel so irritated and paranoid when I am in public. In my childhood I was called names, about my eyes being 'big' and my nostrils being 'big'. I also got electrocuted when I was 4 years old. In my opinion i really trust the FR tests as they are indeed much more sensitive than CB ones. Because your friend tested twice at 2 different times with FR, then the likely hood is that she is pregnant. Perhaps it is too early for the CB to pick up the pregnancy hormone in her urine yet. If she had only done one FR test then there is the possibilty of a false negative but i don't think so due to her doing 2 FR tests at 2 diff times. I got my positive with my twin pregnancy really early when i was still getting negatives with CB tests!! And no, PCOS would not interfere with the result - unless you are pregnant, you will not produce the pregnancy hormone that the test picks up. Hope she gets the result she wants!! Please let us know what the real result is when she knows for sure - I'm really curious now!! xx

My son is 3 years old, has seizures and is very congested.?

I was told that giving him Benedryl would increase his seizures. The doctor said to give him Claritin instead, but that does nothing for his congestion. If anyone can recommend or tell me if there is anything else out there that I can give him, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've tried nasal rinsing and suctioning, but it's only a temporary fix. I've told the doctor about the Claritin not helping, but he said that's all they recommend to children with seizures. There HAS to be something else out there!

In 6th grade my GPA was a 3.7, then it steadily went down to a 3.6, 3.4, 3.2, 3.3, and in freshman year it plummeted to a 2.4. I'm now going to summer school because I failed the second semester of Algebra 1 (I took honors Algebra in 8th grade early,failed it,and retook it in 9th grade) I tried really hard to finish all my work but things would always distract me,like someone mowing their lawn outside or the birds chirping,or the T.V. going on in the other room so I would sit there doing one ignment for 4 to 5 hours. I always like to doodle on the side of a paper and tap my pen on the desk.I'm really quiet and I don't like to stand out in case I mess up. I've always been really messy and unorganized, my mom would constantly get on me for that. When I talk or tell a story I stutter a lot or talk slowly because the words I want to say come out all out of order, or my kind is halfway on something else. In 5th grade my mom had me go in for behavioral therapy,but they didn't see anything wrong with me seeing as my work load wasn't all that hard then. It started getting worse at the end of 8th grade and all of 9th grade. My mom actually sent in the papers from the therapy I had back then to my current doctor and is making an appointment. I just want this worked out before I return to school for my sopre year,so any suggestions?It's all greatly appreciated.

Sticky Situation, Little Girl Bully?

My little granddaughter is a member of the local skating club, while at a competition yesterday one of the other little girls who also skates out of this club accosted my granddaughter. She shoved her and stuck her finger in her face and said all kinds of nasty thing to her. She also was following about 2 inches away from my granddaughter with her tongue stuck out at her. When I mentioned that it wasn't very nice her father turned to me and said "Well, your granddaughter started it!!!" What kind of response was that? Instead of pulling his daughter aside and telling her not to do that he allowed her and her older cousin to bully my granddaughter without saying a word. I am soooooo mad! Now my granddaughter has to go to this rink for lessons and this little bully will be there. When we are away at other rinks for competition we are supposed to be on our best behavior as we are Representatives of our skating club. I would never allow my granddaughter to behave in that manner at any time, no matter what the situation. I am pondering telling the coach what happened but then again I feel like we should ignore it and just tell my granddaughter to not speak to this little girl anymore. I don't want to open a can of worms but I feel this child and her father already have done that. They made what was supposed to be a fun day not so fun.

Stepmom even went so far as taking my daughter to a counselor without notifying me. As she would have the same last name as my daughter, I would guess that she even ped herself off as the mother. My husband (stepdad) knows that he has no legal right to sign papers or inquire at school, let alone take her to a counselor without myself in company. I guess the stepmom is above me and feels that she can undermine my rights as the Parent. The ex also feels that she can do how and what she feels is her rights to do. I am a recent graduate from college. I put myself through school with loans. I am lost right now, I went to the military recruiter's office today. I wasn't sure that I wanted to sign. After I left the recruiter put me on the spot. I said sure sign me up for an appointment at MEPS. However, I really believe I need to take control of my life and not have the military do it. I feel guilty because I am impulsive and keep changing my mind. The recruiter is very good at his job. He builds my pion and motivation then I leave the office and second guess the decision. I am not in DEP so if I do not process then it won't matter. If I had a job right now I would not even think about the service. I quit my manual labor job because I thought I was going to enlist. However, I did soul searching and the military is not for me. I thought the military would change me, but I would be the same person but in a different environment.

No training, eh? I'm not a professional singer or anything, but I'd say It's quite good as is. Nice vibrato as well. Only criticism I have off the bat and that's that sometimes your intonation errs on the high side when you're singing the notes that are on the higher end of your range. If you get training, you should be able to fix this no problem; intonation is one of the easier things to correct vocally. (though I'm sure if you get a real, trained vocalist to respond to you, they'd have more to say/correct, because those people tend to find EVERY little detail they can in other vocalists that normal people don't really hear) but from my standpoint, for somebody with no training, it's pretty awesome.

Why won't my ipod touch connect to the internet?

I have an ipod touch but it won't let me get on the internet. I have been searching for answers to this problem and haven't found any. When I go under settings then wifi and go under my network the IP address is 169.254.35.232 and the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 everything else is blank. I don't understand why it won't connect. Well it says its connected but doesn't work when you try to get on the internet. We have hughes net and I think the router is Belkin. I also tried to check my mail and I have yahoo but apparently you can't check it from the ipod unless you pay for an upgrade on yahoo mail. So I signed up at Gmail which allows you to connect from the ipod for free but when I try to it says imap.gmail.com failed or something like that. Also if I try to get on the internet it says it cannot open the page, operation could not be completed and invalid argument. I have tried many things to fix this and none of them have worked. Result from yzer is quite weird. If PC is initiating boot process, there should be a single beep even before POST starts. Now when you removed RAM and turned it ON, PC should give the unending beep that means RAM error. I am suspecting now that processor is not powering up at all, thus no beeps. The voltage regulator circuit on motherboard that powers up the processor may have a problem. With PC turned ON for about 10 minutes, try touching the lower part of processor cooler. If it is not even warming up a bit, processor has no power. Motherboard need to be replaced.
